MRS. MICHAEL CARLOS
Mr. Hetta Adeline CARLOS (sic) 83 years old, widow of Michael CARLOS and resident of Ottumwa since 1879 died at her home 609 Ellis avenue, Saturday at 4:30 p.m. She had lived at the Ellis avenue home for the past forty-four years.
A native of Jefferson county Mrs. CARLOS was born November 6, 1849 at Fairfield, the daughter of William B. and Mary A. PRATHER. She was married to Michael CARLOS June 17, 1874 at Fairfield. Mr. CARLOS was a veteran of the Civil war.
In 1879 they moved to Ottumwa and Mr. CARLOS died in 1910. Mrs. CARLOS was a member of the Willard Street Methodist Episcopal church for many years and was a member of the Women's Relief Corps No. 327 and other patriotic organizations.
Surviving are one son Don CARLOS of Ottumwa; two nieces Miss Pearl PRATHER of Ottumwa and Miss Lena PRATHER of Waterloo and a nephew A. R. TULLER of Little Falls, Minn. A son William R. CARLOS died September 10, 1879.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today at the chapel of the Carroll Reece mortuary. The Rev. H. S. Wilkinson D. D. pastor of the Willard Street church officiated. Burial made in the Evergreen cemetery of Fairfield.
