FairfieldDoris MINEART, 95, of Fairfield, Iowa, passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Living Center on October 1, 2020. As were her wishes, her body has been donated to the University of Iowa Deeded Body Program. A time to share stories of Doris and visit with her family will be held from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the Cranston Family Funeral Home in Fairfield, Iowa, on Saturday, October 24, 2020. Memorial contributions in Doris' honor may be directed to the Lord's Cupboard in Fairfield. Friends may leave online condolences at www.cranstonfamilyfuneralhome.com.
Doris was born in rural Fairfield on February 15, 1925, to Clayton and Dorothy (BELIEL) WORLEY. Doris married Howard MINEART on September 27, 1946, and they had eight children: Nancy of Portland, ME, Allan of Freeport, ME, William (Marilyn) of Libertyville, IA, Linda (Steve) BLESSING of Downing, MO, Dan (Karen) of Pleasant Plain, IA, Judy (Ron) NEUBAUER of Libertyville, IA, Kathryn (Shannon) MARSH of Boca Raton, FL, and Renee of Norwich, England.
In addition to being a busy homemaker, Doris worked at Universal Manufacturing Co. and American Chain and Cable in Fairfield, and the Army Ammunitions Plant in West Burlington. Doris was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fairfield and her life was built around her faith in God. Doris was always ready for a card game of pitch or putting together a jigsaw puzzle.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband (note: in 1977); one grandson, Kevin MINEART; and six brothers, Robert WORLEY, Verle WORLEY, Lester WORLEY, Raeford WORLEY, Kenneth WORLEY and Jim WORLEY. She is survived by her eight children, 13 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
