DIED FRIDAY AT HIS HOME

Albert L. CANTERBURY, 78, well known resident of Fairfield, passed away Friday afternoon about 3 p.m. at his home, 706½ S. Fifth street. He had suffered a stroke a week ago.

Last rites will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Weston Behner funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. CANTERBURY was the son of the late John and Barbara CANTERBURY. He was born December 4, 1868, in Fairfield, and spent his entire life in this community. He was employed at the Iowa Electric company for over 25 years.

Besides his wife, Alice, he is survived by three sons: Harry, Gilbert and Carl, all of East Moline, Illinois. Six grandchildren also survive. Three brothers preceded him in death.

Note: Buried in Lot 1st.028. He was married four times; first about 1888 to Kathryn Elizabeth McINTIRE WOOLSEY; second in 1892 to Ella M. PHILLIPS; third in 1907 to Gertie M. WINDERS; and fourth in 1911 to Alice M. CHRISTENSEN WILSON. His children are from the first marriage. He is buried with Alice, who died in 1971.
