J. N. CALHOUN Taken In Death

J. Nobie CALHOUN, 77, 203 W. Madison, lifetime resident of this county, died at 10:10 a.m. today at the Jefferson County Hospital after a serious illness of six weeks.

The body is at the Raymond Funeral Home where arrangements are pending.

CALHOUN was associated with Parsons College for 27 years, where he was employed in the business office. He was born September 30, 1889 southeast of Fairfield, the son of J. M. and Emma McWHIRTER CALHOUN. He was married to Alta SAWTELL June 6, 1916.

Surviving are his widow and two daughters, Mrs. Bernard W. MENKE, Las Vegas, Nev.; and Mrs. Lewis SOLEM, Rockville, Md. Three grandchildren also survive.

CALHOUN attended Burlington Business College and was employed at the Turney Wagon factory for 25 years before joining the staff of Parsons College. He was a member of the Christian Church and Masonic Order. Two sisters preceded him in death.

CALHOUN Funeral To Be Saturday

Last rites will be Saturday for J. Nobie CALHOUN, native of Jefferson County who died Thursday at the Jefferson County Hospital after a lengthy illness.

The rites Saturday will be at 2:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church with the Rev. Ned Gillum officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The casket will be taken from he Raymond Funeral Home to the church at 11:30 a.m.

CALHOUN had been associated with Parsons College for 27 years where he was employed in the business office.

NOTICE OF PROBATE OF WILL, OF APPOINTMENT OF EXECUTOR, AND NOTICE TO CREDITORS

In The District Court Of The State Of Iowa In And For Jefferson County

In The Matter Of The Estate Of John Nobie CALHOUN, Deceased.

To All Persons Interested In The Estate Of John Nobie CALHOUN Deceased:

You are hereby notified that on the 27th day of February, 1967, the last will and testament of John Nobie CALHOUN deceased bearing date of the 27th day of February, 1963, was admitted to probate in the above named Court and that Dorothy E. MENKE and Martha L. SOLEM was appointed executor of said estate.

Notice us (sic) further given that any action to set aside said Will must be brought in the district court of said county within one year from the date of the second publication of his notice, or thereafter be forever barred.

Notice is further given that all persons indebted to said estate are requested to make immediate payment to the undersigned, and creditors having claims against said estate shall file them with the clerk of the above named district court, as provided by law, duly authenticated, for allowance; and unless so filed within six months from the second publication of this notice (unless otherwise allowed or paid) such claim shall thereafter be forever barred.
