M. J. CALHOUN DIES SUDDENLY

Death came suddenly this morning to a well known resident of Fairfield. He is Manley J. CALHOUN, 50, who died of a heart attack at his home, 611 W. Van Buren street, at 12:15 a.m. He had been in his usual health until he was stricken.

Last rites will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with the Rev. Wayne Davis in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Manley John CALHOUN was born in Lee county on Feb. 15, 1901, the son of the late Tom and Elizabeth CALHOUN. He came to this community 30 years ago and had made his home here since. He was self-employed.

CALHOUN was united in marriage in June 1, 1930, to Clara M. LEE. The wedding took place in Fairfield.

Besides his wife he is survived by the following children: Mrs. Dick BAILEY, Fairfield; John CALHOUN, Fairfield; Mary, Ellen, Mildred, Donald and Tommy, all at home.

He is also survived by one grandchild and the following sisters: Ruth JUDD, Rock Island, Ill.; Anna DAWSON, Davenport, and Ivy JUDD, Danville, Ia.
