MRS. CALHOUN DIES IN CITY
Funeral for Well-known Resident to be Held Monday Here

Mrs. Emma E. CALHOUN, who was born Feb. 11, 1857, in Jefferson county, died yesterday afternoon at her home 105 West Jeffesron street here. She had been in poor health for some time, having been seriously ill the past few weeks.

Her husband, J. M. CALHOUN preceded her in death June 7, 1927. She is survived by the following children, Mrs. Harvey ERICKSON of Farifield, Mrs. Mabel GILBERT of Battle Creek, Mich., and J. Nobie CALHOUN of Fairfield. She is survived also by three grandchildren, Dorothy and Martha CALHOUN, and Preston GILBERT, and one sister Mrs. Egbert ALLEN of St. Louis, Mo.

She had been a resident of Jefferson county her entire life, and was a faithful member of the First Christian church.

The funeral services will be held Monday at the Hoskins Funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The body was taken to the Hoskins Funeral home.

CALHOUN RITES

Funeral services for Mrs. Emma E. CALHOUN, who passed away Friday afternoon at her home, 105 West Jefferson street, were held at 10 o'clock Monday morning from the Hoskins Funeral Home. Rev. Carl Davis of Des Moines officiated.

Mrs. S. P. Williamson and Mrs. A. C. Johnson sang "I Know My Redeemer Live," "Nearer My God To Thee" and "No Night There." They were accompanied on the piano by Miss Reva Patten.

Pallbearers were William Wells, Eugene Kirby, Jack Facer, A. D. Long, Charlie Summers and Walter Weakland. Burial was made in Evergreen cemetery .

Mrs. CALHOUN was a resident of Jefferson county during her entire life and was a faithful member of the Christian church. She was preceded in death by her husband J. M. CALHOUN in 1927. She is survived by the following children, Mrs. H. C. ERICKSON and J. Nobie CALHOUN of Fairfield and Mrs. Mabel GILBERT of Battle Creek, Mich. She also leaves three grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Egbert ALLEN of St. Louis, Mo.

To All Whom It May Concern:

Notice is hereby given that an instrument, purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Emma CALHOUN, Deceased, is now on file in the office of the Clerk of the District Court of Jefferson county, and that Friday September 13, A. D. 1935, at 9:30 o'clock a.m. has been set for proof and final hearing of same.

Witness my hand and the seal of said Court this 19th day of August, 1935.
