Mrs. Manley CALHOUN, 58, native of Fairfield, died at 4:45 p.m. Monday at the University Hospital in Iowa City (note: in Johnson Co., IA) after an illness of the past seven months.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Foursquare Church with the Rev. Donald Hickman officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
The casket will be taken from the Raymond Funeral Home to the church at 9 a.m. the day of the funeral.
Clara L. CALHOUN was born Jan. 1, 1913, in Fairfield, the daughter of Thomas and Myrtle LATRHOP LEE. She as reared and educated in Fairfield and was a member of the Foursquare Church.
Her marriage to Manley CALHOUN took place June 1, 1930, in Fairfield. He died Aug. 31, 1951.
Mrs. CALHOUN is survived by two sons, Donald CALHOUN, Mount Vernon, Ohio, and Thomas at home; four daughters, Ellen L. CALHOUN, Fairfield; Mrs. Richard BAILEY, Fairfield
Other survivors include 13 grandchildren; three brothers, Charles LEE, Hampton, Ill.; Lloyd LEE, Des Moines; and Robert LEE, Lincoln, Neb.; two sisters, Mrs. Raymond MESSER, Des Moines; and Mrs. Dale HENDRICKS, East Moline, Ill. She was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters, three sons and one daughter.
