T. M. BYRNES Passes Away.

Word has been received of the death of T. M. BYRNES of St. Joseph, Mo., which occurred at El Paso, Texas, where he went for his health. Mrs. BYRNES is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. ROWLAND of 222 North Market street.--Ottumwa Courier.

T. M. BYRNES, or Mike BYRNES as he was familiarly called by our citizens, was born and raised in this city. For a number of years he was in the grocery business on the north side of the square. A few years ago he sold his business here on account of failing health and has since lived in different places. The family has scores of friends here who will be sorry to hear of their sad bereavement.

He Was Former Fairfieldian.

Thomas Michael BYRNES, who was born and reared in this city, died at El Paso, Tex., the 3d inst. He had been a resident of St. Joseph, Mo., for several years, but had removed to Texas in January in the hope that a change of climate might prove beneficial to failing health. Mr. BYRNES was a well known business man of this city from 1887 to 1893, and had many warm friends in the community. His wife, formerly Miss Anna ROWLAND of Ottumwa, and three children survive him. The body was brought to this city for interment Saturday. It was taken directly from the railway station to the cemetery.

Death of Michael BYRNES.

The death of Michael BYRNES, a former resident of Fairfield, occurred last week at his home in Texas and the remains were brought here for burial, arriving Saturday on Q. No. 10. The funeral procession was formed at the depot and the interment made in Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. BYRNES was born and raised in Fairfield and was engaged here in the grocery business for several years. Failing health finally led him to seek a home in Texas in hope of finding relief from change of climate. He leaves a wife and three sons to mourn the loss of a loving husband and a kind father. The family have many friends here who are pained to learn of their bereavement.

Mrs. BYRNES and son, Ross; Mrs. Jno. Powell and Mrs. J. H. Kennefeck, of Chicago, Mrs. Jno. Fogarty, of Des Moines, and Mr. and Mrs. Meyers, of St. Joe, were among those of the relatives who attended the last sad rites.

Note: Buried in Lot SDof25-005, along with an un-named infant of theirs; neither of them have gravestones. The infant was born and died before 1900, as Anna states in the 1900 census that she's had four children with three living.
