Page 2, Column 4FUNERAL OF E. M. BYRKIT HELD HERE
The funeral of E. M. BYRKIT who died Wednesday morning in Des Moines was held this mroning (sic) at 10:30 o'clock by Dr. Thomas Osborn at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. JOHNSON on East Burlington street and the remains were laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery. Mr. BYRKIT was known to a number of Fairfield people and his death will be greatly regretted.
The Des Moines Capital has the following to say regarding Mr. BYRKIT:
"E. M. BYRKIT, 37 years old, superintendent of the Automobile Mutual fire insurance association, died today at the Methodist hospital after a short illness with stomach trouble. He is survived by his widow and his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. C. S. BYRKIT of 1337 East Grand avenue, and one sister Mrs. Anna D. PRAY, and two brothers H. D. and Rolland J. BYRKIT. His father is chief insurance clerk in the State Auditors' office. Funeral services will be held for his friends Thursday afternoon at four o'clock at the home of the parents. The remains will be taken to Fairfield, Ia., for burial.

The funeral of Mr. BYRKIT was held in this city Friday morning at 10:30 o'clock from the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. JOHNSON, on East Burlington street, conducted by Rev. Thos. Osborn and the remains laid to rest in the Evergreen cemetery.
