Death of Jacob BURRIS.

Monday of this week occurred the death of Jacob BURRIS, from heart disease, at his home in Selma. He was brought to this city, which was his home until quite recently, for burial, and the funeral was held at the Baptist church this morning at ten o'clock. The remains were buried by the G. A. R. Post.

Mr. BURRIS was born in Christian county, Ohio, in 1829 and enlisted in 1861 in Co. D, 19th Iowa Infantry, serving in the army for three years. On leaving the army he came to Brookville, where he made his home until about twelve years ago, when he moved to this city. Here about six years ago occurred the death of his wife. He was married for the second time about two years ago to Miss Ida JOHNSON.

Last spring he went to Selma, but only to remain temporarily, and it was there he died. His health had been poor for a short time past and Monday his death came suddenly and unexpectedly.
