ANNA BUCHER
It was with sorrow when the sad telegram came from Rochester, Minn. Wednesday evening that Miss Anna BUCHER had been called to her Heavenly rest(.)
She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph BUCHER and formerly lived here, south of Beckwith. Anna Ellen was born in this county, July 14, 1898 and the greater part of her life was spent and enjoyed here. She graduated from Fairfield High School with the class of 1917, where she was always a favorite with her class. For the past year she has been employed in the Stockport schools where she has taught a very successful school.
Those who are left to mourn are her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph BUCHER and the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth NELSON of Stockport, Mrs. Rosa BIEHL of Aurora, Ill., Sophia of Chicago, Ill., Mary, Laura Ruth, Lucile, Joe and Edd at home, Elsie of Akron, and Pete of Beckwith. Anna was of sweet disposition loved and admired by all that she came in contact with.
Feeling that her health was failing her, she decided to make a trip to Rochester and consult the Mayo bros. Only a short time ago she left for Minnesota hopeful that she would be benefitted. No doubt that she ever had a thought that death was lurking so near. Saturday she underwent the operation successfully, and on the day before she passed away she wrote a letter home to her brother, Pete, and family full of life and good spirits and no doubt but what she was then counting the days she could come back to her loved ones. But e'er the sun went down on another day the sad message came that Anna had stepped over the border land and had met her beloved Saviour. How sad it is to think that she must be snatched in early youth with a bright future.
But God's ways are not our ways. We can only bow in submission and say, "Thy will not mine be done."
The BUCHER family link is broken there will be a vacant chair, but their loss will be but her gain, for Anna is at rest and why should we mourn and wish her back in this cold and cheerless world.
The remains were brought to the home of her brother, Pete in Beckwith and the last services were held at the Catholic church in Fairfield Saturday at 9 oclock. The community extends sympathy.
