Verl BUCHANAN Dies In Kansas; Services Here

Verl C. BUCHANAN, son of David L. BUCHANAN, 205 E. Hempstead St., died Sunday in Wichita, Kansas, following a heart attack, according to word received here.

BUCHANAN was 59. A native of Jefferson county, he lived near Libertyville for many years. Survivors include his wife and two children.

The body will be returned to the Hoskins funeral home in Fairfield and burial will be here. Services are pending.

BUCHANAN Funeral Will Be Held At 10 A. M. Saturday

Last rites will be Saturday morning for Verl C. BUCHANAN, native of Jefferson county who passed away last weekend in Wichita, Kan., following a heart attack.

The services will be held at 10 a.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with Dr. L. L. Weis in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Verl Clifford BUCHANAN, 58, was born Sept. 29, 1894, in Jefferson county. He lived near Libertyville for a number of years before leaving this community.

In recent years he was occupied as a salesman and lived in Wichita, Kan. He was a member of the V.F.W., the American Legion and served in the armed forces during World War I.

BUCHANAN is survived by his wife, the former Clare CARMICHAEL; one daughter Mrs. Kathleen LARIMER, Wichita, Kan.; and one son, Verl, who resides at Independence, Mo.

He is also survived by his father, Dave BUCHANAN, Fairfield; a sister, Mrs. Mabel CRAWFORD, Stockport; five brothers, Floyd, Missoula, Mont.; Ray, Albert and Melvin, all of Wyoming, and Harold, Birmingham; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother and two brothers.

Arrive To Attend BUCHANAN Funeral

Several relatives from distant points came to Fairfield this weekend to attend the funeral of Verl BUCHANAN, former Jefferson county resident who passed away a week ago at Wichita, Kan., following a heart attack.

They include his wife and son, Mrs. Verl BUCHANAN of Wichita; his daughter, Mrs. Kathleen LARIMER, Wichita, Kan.; his son, Verl, who resides at Independence, Mo.; and the following brothers: Melvin BUCHANAN, Meeteetse, Wyo.; Floyd BUCHANAN, Missoula, Mont,.; Albert BUCHANAN, Greybull, Wyo.; and Ray BUCHANAN, Cody, Wyo.

The services were held at the Hoskins funeral home this morning.

Note: Buried in Lot 2nd.070. Verl was in the U. S. Army in World War I, a Sergeant in the 351st IA Infantry, 88th Division. Wife Nora Clare CARMICHAEL BUCHANAN died in 1994 and is buried with him.
