R. J. BUCHANAN DIES AT HOME

R. J. BUCHANAN, 87, resident of Fairfield for the past 16 years, passed away at his home, 501 South Second street, at 1:15 p.m. Saturday. He had been in failing health for a year and in serious condition the past week.

Last rites will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home in charge of Dr. L. H. Scheerer. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Robert James BUCHANAN was born April 2, 1859, in Missouri, the son of the late William and Eleanor LOCK BUCHANAN. He was a retired farmer, moving to Fairfield from the farm in January, 1930. He had been a resident of Jefferson county since 1908.

He is survived by one daughter, Eleanor, at home; a brother, D. L. BUCHANAN, Fairfield; a sister, Mrs. Dave LYTLE, Denver. His wife, one sister and three brothers preceded him in death.

ADMINISTRATOR'S NOTICE

Public Notice Is Hereby Given:

That the undersigned has this day been appointed and commissioned by the District Court of Jefferson County, in the State of Iowa, administratrix of the estate of Robert J. BUCHANAN, deceased;

All persons having claims against said estate are hereby notified to file them with the Clerk of said court, clearly stated and duly sworn to, and within legal time, preparatory to their being allowed or proved, and persons owing said estate are requested to make immediate payment to the undersigned and avoid costs.

Dated at Fairfield, Iowa, this 28th day of October, A. D. 1946.
