M. BUCHANAN DIES SATURDAY
Aged Fairfield Resident Fails To Recover From Hip Injury

Mrs. Mary A. BUCHANAN died in the Jefferson county hospital at 5:35 Saturday afternoon, at the age of 79 years. She lived at 601 South Second street. Death resulted from a recent injury. Mrs. BUCHANAN fell at her home on December 22, fracturing a hip. She was taken immediately to the hospital here.

She was born on Nov. 24, 1858 in Donnellson, Iowa. She moved to Fairfield from a farm southeast of the city seven years ago.

She is survived by her husband, Robert J. BUCHANAN and one daughter, Eleanor. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Clara HEITZMAN and Miss Rose FISHER of Ft. Madison, and Mrs. Christine DUGGAN of Trinidad, Colo. and one brother, Louis FISHER of Ft. Madison. A second brother, Edward, died 27 years ago.

The Hoskins Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements. Services will be held in St. Mary's Catholic church at 9 o'clock tomorrow morning in charge of Father Gaule. Enterment (sic) will be in Evergreen cemetery.
