OVERTURFF Rites Set

LIBERTYVILLE -- Mrs. Mabel M. OVERTURFF, 99, died at 1 p.m. Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Helen BEASLEY near Batavia.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m.. Wednesday at the Mount Zion United Methodist Church near Libertyville with the Rev. L.C. Stufflebeam and the Rev. Wayne Bartruff officiating. Interment will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery north of Douds (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).

The casket will be taken from the Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds to the church at 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Mabel M. (sic - Mabel Helen) OVERTURFF was born May 31, 1875, in the Mount Zion Community, the daughter of Hiel and Elizabeth MOYER MILLER. She lived in the same community her entire life. Mrs. OVERTURFF was a lifelong member of the Mount Zion United Methodist church and a member of United Methodist Women.

She was married in 1909 to Harry OVERTURFF. He died in 1930. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and a grandson.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. BEASLEY; a son, Hiel OVERTURFF, Libertyville; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
