Stanley Glenn Zehr, 75, of West Chester, died Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following a sudden illness.

A memorial service is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Beatty Funeral Home in Washington, with the Rev. Marlene Janssen officiating. Burial will be in West Chester Cemetery.

Visitation is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. A Masonic service will follow family visitation.

Memorials may be made to West Chester Heritage Association.

The body has been cremated.

Mr. Zehr was born Feb. 25, 1930, in South English, the son of Abraham K. and Louise "Lucy" M. Eash Zehr. He married Beverly Sprague Nov. 28, 1964, in Keota.

He attended Keota High School. He was in the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict and stationed in Okinawa, Japan.

Prior to his marriage he worked missile silos in the western U.S. He was employed for many years as an electrician for Electricians Union in Burlington.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge and the Shriners Club of Davenport.

Survivors include his wife of West Chester; two brothers, Eugene Zehr of Washington and Cecil Zehr of Fairfield; and one sister, Kathryn Pratt of Ottumwa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Austin, Lawrence and Wayne Zehr.
