Ercel I. Palm

Ercel I. Palm, 94, of 807 W. Taylor Ave., died at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004, at Nelson Nursing Home.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Stephen Page officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

A rosary will be recited by St. Mary Altar and Rosary Society at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Family visitation will follow the prayer service Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials can be made to St. Mary Catholic Church.

Mrs. Palm was born Oct. 4, 1910 in rural Jefferson County, the daughter of Lou and Elsie Ruby Keller. She married Paul L. Palm Nov. 23, 1931, in Fairfield. He died May 4, 1981.

She lived most of her live in Jefferson County. She graduated from Packwood High School and St. Joseph School of Nursing in Ottumwa. She and her husband operated a dairy farm in Cedar Township.

Mrs. Palm was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society.

She also was a member of Victory Club, a neighborhood group.

Survivors include three sons, Louis Palm and wife Joyce of Omaha, Neb., Robert Palm and wife Teresa of Fairfield and Ronald Palm and wife Khatuna of Ottumwa; three daughters, Marilyn Wagner of Ottawa, Ill., Rita Picken of Ottumwa and Beverly Barnes and husband Richard of Fairfield; special friend, Norbert Pauly of Fairfield; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Irene Doughty of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Erma Stickradt of Allen Texas; and one brother, Vernon Keller of Leesburg, Fla.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Floyd Keller.
