May 25, 2005Margaret E. Rader, 75, of Washington, Iowa, died Tuesday, May 24, 2005, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City following a lengthy illness.
The funeral is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at United Presbyterian Church in Washington, with the Rev. Kitch Shatzer officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Friday in McIntire Cemetery in Ottumwa.
Visitation is scheduled from to begin at noon Thursday with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington.
Memorials may be made to breast cancer research or for Washington Relay for Life.

Mrs. Rader was born Dec. 15, 1929, in Ottumwa, the daughter of John Russell and Dorothy Dunning Arter. She married Harry Rader June 24, 1950, in Ottumwa.
She graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1948.
She moved with her husband to Washington in 1953, returned to Ottumwa in 1973 and moved back to Washington in 1989.
She worked at Kressges, Woolworth's and Sears as a customer service representative in Ottumwa.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Wayland and Brighton. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church where she was active in the women's circle.
She attended and assisted with many Masonic Lodge functions.
Mrs. Rader's hobbies included cooking, flowers and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Cheryl Payne and husband Russell of Washington and Janice Rader Pringle and husband Randy of Fairfield; one son, Mike Rader and wife Leslie of Blue Springs, Mo.; one sister, Roberta Boyd of Lake Mary, Fla.; one brother, John Russell Arter Jr. of Ottumwa; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.
