... Mrs. Catherine BROWN died in this city at the home of her sister, Mrs. Elizabeth McCLELLAN, on Thurday (sic), August 31st, at 11:45 p.m. Her death resulted from dropsy and rheumatism. Mrs. BROWN's home was in Chicago, but at the time of her death she had been here for ten weeks visiting her sister. She was a widow and had but one child, a daughter, Mrs. George NELSON, of Chicago, who was in the city at the time of her mother's illness and death. The funeral took place from Mrs. McCLELLAN's residence in the southeastern part of this city, Rev. Dr. J. F. Magill conducting the services. The remains were interred in the Evergreen cemetery. ...
