Autopsy In Death Ordered

The Jefferson County medical examiner today ordered an autopsy in the death of Lester E. BONNETT, Jefferson County farmer who lost his life when he apparently fell Thursday evening from a machine shed he was building on his farm.

Mrs. BONNETT found her husband's body near the shed about 6 p.m. She had called to him to come to the house for the evening meal but got no response.

It is now known if he suffered a heart attack before the fall, or if death was caused by the fall.

The BONNETT farm is located about three miles northeast of Fairfield on the Salina road.

Last rites will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Lutheran Church with the Rev. Hoyt Whitebread officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

The body is at the Weston Behner Funeral Home.

Lester E. BONNETT, 55, was born Oct. 5, 1911, in the Pleasant Plain Community, the son of Edgar and Mae JONES BONNETT. He was married to Mildred E. FLINSPACH on Oct. 17, 1937. He had been a farmer and carpenter all of his life.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Roy E. BONNETT, Pontiac, Mich.; one daughter, Doris BONNETT, student at Iowa State University at Ames; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar BONNETT, route 2, Batavia.

He is also survivied (sic) by two brothers, Merwyn BONNETT, Oskaloosa, and Wilbur BONNETT, Batavia; and two sisters, Mrs. Marjorie McCRACKEN, Fairfield, and Mrs. Lurena REED, Fairfield.
