Birdie B. BONNETT

LIBERTYVILLE - Birdie B. BONNETT, 89, of Libertyville, died at 2:50 a.m. today, Wednesday, June 5, 1996, at Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).

The service tentatively is set for 2 p.m. Friday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery at Fairfield. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to Faith United Methodist Church Building Fund in Libertyville and the Good Samaritan Center.

Miss BONNETT was born Oct. 15, 1906, near Libertyville, the daughter of Edward and Ora May HUDSON BONNETT. A lifetime resident of the Libertyville community, she graduated from Libertyville High School. She worked at Fairfield Glove Company for 20 years, starting in 1945. She worked in housekeeping at Jefferson County Hospital from 1967 until 1989, when she retired at age 80. She was a gardener, and quilting was a favorite pastime. She had made many quilts, including several for each of her 21 nieces and nephews.

Surviving are a sister, Myrtle CARMICHAEL of Fairfield; a brother, Russell BONNETT of Libertyville; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ercel FRY; and five brothers, John, Carl, Glen, Edward and Raymond BONNETT.
