KEOSAUQUA -- Mrs. Bessie Lee BOGLE, 97, died at 11:15 a.m. Monday in Calvin Manor Retirement Home in Des Moines (note: in Polk Co., IA), where she had lived the past five years.
The daughter of William and Rebecca TRUE BARKER, she was born May 1, 1873 at Mt. Zion. On March 7, 1894, she married Charles S. BOGLE and they farmed near Mt. Zion until 1912, when they moved to Fairfield.
In 1915 they moved to Des Moines, where Mr. BOGLE worked in the state agriculture and motor vehicle departments. He died in May, 1951.
They were members of the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church, the First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield where Mr. BOGLE was superintendent of the Sunday school, and Westminster Presbyterian Church in Des Moines.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Catcott Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Millard Marshall of the Keosauqua Congregational Church in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.
