CHARLES EDWARD DANIELSON
Bella Vista, Ark.

Charles Edward DANIELSON, 88, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, died on June 24, 2020, at Circle of Life Hospice-Legacy Village of Bentonville, Arkansas. Charles DANIELSON was born October 19, 1931, in Fairfield, Iowa. He was the son of Frank DANIELSON and Martha BAUER DANIELSON.

Charles graduated from high school in Fairfield, Iowa, and graduated from the University of Iowa with a Business Degree. He returned to Fairfield and was a partner and owner of the Danielson Automobile Dealership for 40 years. He also served for 40 years in the Iowa National Guard Band. He married Connie DE HANN DANIELSON on October 1, 1983.

Upon his retirement in 1994, he and his wife moved to Bella Vista. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista. He was also an avid golfer and musician. Charlie loved spending time on his boat, traveling near and far, and playing cards with his wife and friends.

Charles DANIELSON was past president of the Bella Vista Performing Art Association, past president of the Bella Vista Iowa Club, and was the leader of the Bella Vista Big Band. He was a member of the 18 Hole Golf Association in Bella Vista. Charlie was a board member of the Bella Vista Community Concert Band. The day after 9-11 he went to Frank Fletcher and announced he wanted to work for him at his Honda Dealership in Rogers. He became the oldest and longest-working person at the dealership.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Ruth; and his brother, Chester.

Charles is survived by his wife of the home; three sons, one daughter, a stepson and a stepdaughter, and nine grandchildren. Survivors are Charles DANIELSON Jr. and Nancy of Martha's Vineyard, Mass.; Mark DANIELSON and Susan DANIELSON of Iowa City, Iowa; Eric DANIELSON and Susan DANIELSON of Stillwater, Minnesota; Jennifer DANIELSON of Iowa City; Bill FRY and Trish, Lisa, and Haylee FRY of Chelan, Washington.

At the request of Charles DANIELSON, his body has been cremated and a private family prayer service will be held at the home with the pastor of First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista officiating. A private inurnment will be held at a later date in the Fayetteville V.A. National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista, 20 Boyce Drive, Bella Vista, Arkansas 72715; to the Bella Vista Community Band (www.bellavistacommunityband.org); or Circle of Life Hospice-Legacy Village, 1201 NE Legacy Parkway, Bentonville, AR 72712.

Charles Edward DANIELSON, 88, former longtime resident of Fairfield, died on June 24, 2020, at Circle of Life Hospice - Legacy Village of Bentonville, Arkansas. Charlie was born October 19, 1931, in Fairfield, Iowa. He was the son of Frank and Martha BAUER DANIELSON.

Charlie graduated from high school in Fairfield, Iowa, and received a Business Degree from the University of Iowa. He returned to Fairfield and was a partner and owner of Danielson Motor Company with his brother, Chet, for forty years.

He married Donna PATTISON in 1961 and they had 4 children, Charles DANIELSON Jr. (Nancy) of Vineyard Haven, Mass; Mark DANIELSON (Susan STUMP) of Iowa City, Iowa, Eric (Susan) DANIELSON of Stillwater, Minnesota, and Jennifer DANIELSON of Iowa City. Conna and Charlie later divorced. While in Fairfield, Charlie loved playing golf with his friends and family while driving his Cushman golf cart complete with police siren. He also loved fishing and picking apples with the kids at the family farm south of Fairfield. Family and friends have gooe memories of the cabin on Walton Lake.

Charlie served for forty years in the Iowa National Guard as a member of the 34th Army Band. Many will remember his infectious smile, incredible trumpet playing and love of music. In addition to the summer concert series at the bandshell in Fairfield and many weekend dance band engagements, Charlie had the honor of playing taps (sic - Taps) at the funeral of President Herbert Hoover and playing in the Bella Vista Big Band at Bill Clinton's presidential inauguration.

Charlie married Connie DeHANN on October 1, 1983 and they moved to Bella Vista upon his retirement in 1994. Charlie could not stay away from the car business and in 2001 went to work at the Honda Dealership in Rogers where he became the oldest and longest-working person at the dealership. Charlie loved spending time on his boat, traveling near and far, and playing cards with his friends.
