SALEM -- Mrs. Leslie BLACK, 75, rural Salem, died Sunday at 11:35 a.m. at the Ottumwa Hospital (note: in Wapello Co., IA).
Funeral arrangements are pending. The body is at the Weston Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Services for Mrs. Mabel M. BLACK, 75, Salem Route 1, will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home.
Mrs. BLACK died Sunday at the Ottumwa Hospital after an illness of three weeks. She had been a resident of Salem community for 34 years.
Last rites will be conducted by the Rev. Dean W. Berg. Burial will be inn (sic) Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. BLACK was born May 13, 1896 at Burlington, the daughter of John and Adeline BUTTS BRIGGS. She was married May 5, 1924, to L. J. BLACK.
Surviving are her husband; one son, Robert ANDERSON (note: foster son), Salem; one brother, John BRIGGS, Lockridge; and three sisters: Mrs. Della TAYLOR, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Florence CAVINESS, Cedar Rapids; and Mrs. Mary KAEHLER of Wisconsin.
