BENDER RITES MONDAY A. M.

Mrs. William BENDER, well known local resident, passed away Friday afternoon at 3:05 p.m. at the Jefferson county hospital. Mrs. BENDER has been in failing health for the past several years and has been bedfast for the past twenty months. She has been seriously ill for the past three weeks.

The funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the Methodist church of which she was a member. Rev. A. P. Kerst (note: 'r' inverted) and A. K. Harper will officiate, and burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The body will be taken from the Hoskins funeral home to the church at 9:30 a.m.

Mrs. BENDER, the former Idella Ruth COREY, was born in Walnut township of Jefferson county and would have been fifty-three years of age October 14 (sic - Nov. 14th). She is survived by her husband, William, a son Harold Ralph, who is serving with the U. S. navy at Little Creek, Va., and a daughter, Mrs. Harold VORHIES of Fairfield, and four grandchildren. Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. H. H. VanWINKLE and M. H. COREY both of Fairfield, W. S. COREY of New London, Jesse COREY of Mt. Union, John L. COREY of Morning Sun, and Mrs. Alice E. RAMEY of Los Angeles.

Mrs. BENDER was also a member of the Degree of Honor.

Fairfield.--Mrs. William BENDER, well known local resident, passed away Friday afternoon at 3:05 at the Jefferson county hospital. Mrs. BENDER had been in failing health for the past several years and had been bedfast for the past twenty months. She had been seriously ill for the past three weeks.

Mrs. BENDER, the former Idella Ruth COREY, was born in Walnut township of Jefferson county and would have been fifty-three years of age October 14 (sic). She is survived by her husband, William, a son Harold Ralph, with the U. S. navy, and a daughter, Mrs. Harold VORHIES of Fairfield; also surviving are the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. H. H. VanWINKLE, and M. H. COREY, both of Fairfield, W. S. COREY of New London, Jesse COREY of Mount Union, John L. COREY of Morning Sun, and Mrs. Alice E. RAMEY of Los Angeles.
