EDWIN BELL DIED TUESDAY IN DES MOINES
Funeral services for former Fairfield resident to be Saturday

Edwin B. BELL, 68, former resident of Fairfield, passed away at 9:30 o'clock Tuesday evening, in a Des Moines hospital (note: in Polk Co., IA). He had been ill for only a week.

Funeral services will be held at the Hoskins Funeral Home Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, in charge of Dr. M. A. Gable. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The body will arrive at the Hoskins Funeral Home Saturday morning.

Mr. BELL was born and reared in Fairfield, the son of Tom and Lenora BELL. Tom BELL was a prominent grocer in Fairfield before the turn of the century, and served this district as state senator.

Edwin BELL was united in marriage with Miss Mame (sic - Mamie) CRANE, who survives him. A few years after their marriage, the BELLs moved to Washington, where they lived for many years. They have made their home in Des Moines for the past several years. Mr. BELL was employed with the Rock Island railroad, and more recently with the Great Western railroad.

State of Iowa, Jefferson County, ss:

To All Whom It May Concern:

Notice is hereby given that an instrument, purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Edwin B. BELL, Deceased, is now on file in the office of the Clerk of the District Court of Jefferson County, and that Monday, September 16th, A. D. 1940 at 9:30 o'clock A. M. has been set for proof and final hearing of same.

Witness my hand and the seal of said Court, this 22nd day of August, 1940.
