Rites Wednesday for ZIHLMAN

Amanda Marie BEKEL ZIHLMAN, 79, died at 3:25 a.m. Sunday at Parkview Care Center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. R. Keith Lingwall officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home. Memorials have been established to the Parkview Activity Fund, First Lutheran Church, and Lifeline-Jefferson County Hospital.

Mrs. ZIHLMAN was born Sept. 21, 1906 in Washington County, the daughter of Charles and Lucy FRAIN ARMSTRONG. She married Lloyd BEKEL Sept. 23, 1925. He died Nov. 11, 1965. On Aug. 16, 1974, she married Lloyd ZIHLMAN, who died Feb. 21, 1982. She lived most of her life in Jefferson County, was a member of First Lutheran Church and Rebekah Lodge. She had worked as a cook at Woody's Steak House and the Fairfield Golf and Country Club.

She is survived by a son, Leonard BEKEL of Brighton; two daughters, Thelma ECKWALL and Velma KELLER, both of rural Fairfield; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Florence BERG of Fairfield and a brother, John Howard ARMSTRONG of Milwaukee, Wis.
