The husband of a former Fairfield resident died suddenly Friday while at his work in Burlington.
He was Charles E. BECK, 57, who will be buried in Evergreen cemetery here Monday afternoon. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Don Eagle in charge.
His wife is the former Beryl A. FLEMING, who was born and reared in Fairfield.
Charles BECK passed away suddenly yesterday while at his work as treasurer of the Burlington Basket company of Burlington. He had been employed at the firm for 36 years. He was a member of the Methodist church at Burlington and the Elks club.
Charles E. BECK was born Oct. 31, 1900, in Gorin, Mo., the son of the late Ollie and Minnie EWING BECK. He was united in marriage on Nov. 26, 1919, to Beryl A. FLEMING of Fairfield. The marriage took place at Rockford, Ill.
Besides his wife he is survived by a son, Charles E. BECK, Jr., Mason City; a daughter, Mrs. Betty ROBERTSON, Burlington; and four grandchildren.
He is also survived by a brother, Chalmer BECK, Bakersfield, Calif.; and a sister, Mrs. Fred DICKEY, Fort Madison.
Last rites will be held at the Wallen funeral home in Burlington at 10 a.m. Monday. The body will then be brought to Fairfield for graveside services and burial. The services at Burlington will be conducted by the Rev. Bruce Masselink and the Rev. George Hunt.
