Glenn V. BATES, life-time resident of Jefferson county and a Fairfield factory employe, died suddenly at his home west of Fairfield about 2:30 a.m. this morning. He had been in his usual health Sunday.
Last rites will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the First Lutheran church with the Rev. Harold Kruger officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The body is at the Raymond funeral home.
Glenn V. BATES, 64, was born March 2, 1896, at Fairfield, the son of Perry O. and Bertha WALKER (sic - WELKER) BATES. He was reared and educated in Fairfield and spent his entire life in Jefferson county.
He lived in Fairfield from 1927 to 1952 when he and Mrs. BATES moved to a farm about four miles west of here where he passed away.
He was a member of the First Lutheran church, the Fraternal Order of Eagles and was an employe at the Fairfield Glove Company.
Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. George LEE, Fairfield, three grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is also survived by three brothers, Carl and Vernon BATES, both of Fairfield, and Charles BATES, Manteca, Calif.; and two sisters, Mrs. B. R. LOOFBOURROW, Hollister, California and Mrs. Vera HOOVER, Davenport.
