William Douthart Jr.
May 20, 2005William Merle Douthart Jr., 54, of Bonaparte, died Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at his home.
The funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Catie Newman officiating. Burial will be in Forbes Cemetery north of Keosauqua.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today and with the family present 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials to the family may be left at the funeral home or mailed to 311 Texas St., Bonaparte 52620.
Mr. Douthart was born Jan. 4, 1951, in Fairfield, the son of William M. and Verna McCarty Douthart.
He lived most of his life in the Keosauqua and Bonaparte areas. He had worked in factories and was a self-employed carpenter.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his mother, Verna Coleman of Bonaparte; three sisters, Carol Douthart of Bonaparte, Connie Allen of Unionville, Mo., and Linda Douthart of Fairfield; three half-brothers, Ronald Coleman of Mount Pleasant, Donald Coleman of Ottumwa and Michael Coleman of Bonaparte.
He was preceded in death by his father and companion, Sherene Thompson.
