Funeral services for well-known farmer Tuesday afternoonEmmett Tipton BARNETT, 81, well-known farmer, passed away Sunday evening at 9:45 p.m. at his home, 700 West Broadway. He had been ill for some time.
Mr. BARNETT moved to Fairfield about 12 years ago with his family from Keosauqua. He formerly lived in Illinois before coming to Keosauqua.
He was born on Jan. 31, 1858 at Coldbrook, Ill. Mr. BARNETT was a farmer until later years when his health failed. He was a member of the Christian church in Keosauqua.
He is survived by his wife and two children, Mrs. Harold McNEESE of Fairfield and Elmer T. BARNETT, also of Fairfield. Also surviving are two brothers, Otis BARNETT of Monmouth, Ill., and Sheldon BARNETT of Oquawka, Ill.; and two sisters, Mrs. Alma BRADLEY and Mrs. Etta ROBINSON, both of Monmouth.
The body was brought to the Weston Behner Funeral Home and later removed to the home where it will remain until Tuesday morning.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral home. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery.
