E. BARNETT Dies At 78

Elmer T. BARNETT, 78, 115 N. Main, became suddenly ill Monday and was dead on arrival at Jefferson County Hospital at 5:40 p.m. He had been ill the past month.

Graveside rites will be in Evergreen Cemetery Thursday at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. George W. Koch officiating. Visitation is Wednesday from 7 until 8 p.m., at Behner Funeral Home.

The son of Emmett and Myra GARDNER BARNETT, he was born Aug. 2, 1899 (sic - Aug. 28, 1899) in Monmouth, Ill. He was married to Flossie GOODWIN on Sept. 22m, 1951.

He had lived in the Fairfield community for over 40 years and had worked in the bakery business most all of his life.

He was a member of the Eagles Lodge (sic - Aerie/Club) and the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife and one sister, Gladys McNEESE of Fairfield. He was preceded in death by one brother.
