FAIRFIELD -- Mrs. Oscar F. BARNETT, 72, died at the Crawford nursing home at 1:45 p.m. Sept. 15. Her home was at 611 West Jackson street.
Mrs. BARNETT had been ill for two months, and had been at the nursing home for three weeks.
Bertha GOULD was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John GOULD, and was born at Lewiston, Ill., on Aug. 21, 1883. On her eighteenth birthday she was married to Oscar F. BARNETT at Kewanee, Ill. They moved to Jefferson in 1923.
She was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist church. She is survived by her husband and eight sons and two daughters: Harley, Harold and Ronald BARNETT, all of Moline, Ill.; Paul BARNETT, Stillwater, Ill.; Lester BARNETT, Garden Grove, Calif.; Chester BARNETT, Ypsilanti, Mich.; Kenneth and Russell BARNETT, both of Fairfield; Mrs. Virginia PIPER, Fremont and Mrs. Betty KEIF, of Waterloo.
One son and two daughters are dead.
Also surviving are a brother and a sister; Clarence GOULD, Galesburg, Ill., and Mrs. Iva GILMORE, of St. Louis; 22 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Last rites will be held at the Weston Behner funeral home at 2 p.m. Monday. Elder Paul Gudgell, Cedar Rapids, a former pastor of the Fairfield Seventh-Day Adventist church, will officiate, and burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
