M. K. BARNES Passed Away At Noon Today

Death came shortly afternoon today to Milo K. BARNES, well known Fairfield resident and former salesman for the Fairfield Glove company.

BARNES, who retired some time ago because of failing health, became seriously ill yesterday and was taken to the Jefferson county hospital where he passed away today.

The body was taken to the Monger funeral home where last rites are pending. The BARNES home is at 607 S. Main street.

HOLD BARNES RITES TODAY

Funeral services for Milo K. BARNES, veteran Fairfield factory executive who died last Saturday, were held this afternoon at the Monger Funeral home.

Dr. L. L. Weis, pastor of the First Methodist church, was in charge of the services. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery.

BARNES was one of the directors of the Fairfield Glove Co. He had been connected with the firm for the past 45 years, both as a sales representative and a former plant superintendent. He retired as a traveling man about three years ago, but was active in company business until his death.

BARNES died at Jefferson county hospital Saturday morning after suffering a heart attack. He had been in poor health since August, 1950.

He was born November 26, 1870 in Edinburgh, Mo., and attended public school there. He attended college in Liberty, Mo., and later married the former Alpha RICE in Trenton, Mo. She preceded him in death in November, 1938.

BARNES began his sales career from a Trenton, Mo., grocery firm 50 years ago, moving to Fairfield five years later. He was a member of the Methodist church and was also affiliated with the Modern Woodmen and United Commercial Travelers.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Keith PRIZER and Mrs. Wanda GARBER, both of Fairfield. In addition to his wife, three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
