Elbert BARKER, 83, 907 W. Jefferson, died Tuesday afternoon at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Milwaukee, Wis.
He had entered the hospital Sunday while he was visiting his son, Ernest, in Milwaukee.
The body is being returned to the Raymond Funeral Home where last rites are pending.
Elbert BARKER was born April 13, 1891, in Keosauqua, the son of Milton and Lora LOCKWOOD BARKER. He was reared and educated in the Keosauqua Community and Ottumwa.
He was first married to Ethel BREWINGTON, and later to Iva BLOCK in Davenport July 16, 1932. She died March 24, 1970.
Survivors include two sons, Ernest, Milwaukee, and Robert, Darby, Mont.; one daughter, Mrs. Raymond HICKENBOTTOM, Fairfield; a stepson, John HOSACK, Franklin, Pa.; and a sister, Mrs. Nina WEBER, Ottumwa.

Last rites for Elbert BARKER, 83, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home.
BARKER, 907 W. Jefferson, died Tuesday at Veterans Administration Hospital in Milwaukee, Wis. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Wayne Bartruff. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
