LEWIS C. BALL DIED YESTERDAY
Suffered A Stroke Of Paralysis Wednesday At 1 Oclock Which Proved Fatal

Lewis C. BALL passed away Monday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. at his home on North Main street following a short illness. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the family home, 502 North Main street in charge of Dr. C. L. Tennant. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Lewis Cass BALL was born on his father's farm near Fairfield January 18, 1852, the son of Smith and Rebecca BALL. At the time of his death, being 72 years, 4 months, 14 days. He was married on November 30, 1875 to Evaline FISHER and to this union were born four children, Mrs. F. F. CASE of Janesville, Wis., Mrs. Paul McLEAN and Pearl and L. C. Jr. at home.

The greater part of his life was spent on a farm although he had been a resident of Fairfield the past thirty years.

In early manhood, he united with the Ebenezer Christian church near his home farm and through sentiment had retained his membership there although he was a regular attendant of the First Methodist church.

He was prominent in the Odd Fellow's lodge, belonging to I. O. O. F. No. 4 for many years.

Mr. BALL was enjoying his usual good health when suddenly stricken with paralysis at 1 o'clock Wednesday while out at his farm. He rallied enough to be brought to his home that same evening. His condition seemed favorable and great hope for his recovery was held until Saturday noon when he suffered another hemorrhage which proved fatal.

He is survived by his faithful wife and four children who were all with him, by one brother Frank P. BALL and by five grandchildren who were very dear to him.
