"LAD" BALL DIED THIS MORNING
Popular Young Business Man Had Been Ill For Six Weeks

Harold W. BALL, known affectionately to the whole community as "Lad," died this morning at 6:30 o'clock at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph L. BALL, 501 East Burlington street. He had been ill for about six weeks with heart trouble and grew worse Sunday and his brother, John was summoned from his studies in Iowa State University and his sister, Josephine from Ferry Hall, a girl's school at Lake Forest, Ill.

Funeral services have not yet been made, pending word from relatives at a distance ,but probably will be held Thursday afternoon (sic).

"Lad" was 24 years old and had lived all his life in Fairfield, attending the public schools, being graduated from the high school and then attending Parsons college. He interrupted his studies at college here to go to the University of Pennsylvania to take a special business course. He returned to go into business with his father as the manager of the First Securities company.

He married Miss Bernice HARPER, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. A. HARPER, May 13, 1927.

Will Be Held At Home Of Parents, Conducted by Dr. Turner and Dr. Smith

Funeral services for Harold W. BALL will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 oclock at the home of his parents at 401 East Burlington street, conducted by Dr. E. B. Turner of Parsons college and Dr. U. S. Smith, pastor of the First Methodist church(.) Interment will be at Evergreen cemetery.

Just Among Ourselves

… A. C. FULLER and daughter, Ruth and son Robert have returned to their home in Cedar Falls after attending the funeral of their nephew and cousin, Harold W. BALL. Mrs. FULLER has remained for a visit with her sister, Mrs. Joseph BALL.

K. P. MEMORIAL TO HAROLD BALL
Half Hour Program of Resolutions and Address Tomorrow Night

A memorial service for Harold W. BALL who died last week will be held at the opening of the Knights of Pythias lodge meeting tomorrow night. The services will begin at 7:30 oclock and last for a half hour. There will be a resolution, songs and addresses. The public is invited to this service.

At 8 oclock the lodge will open in regular form, and the Rank of Page will be conferred on twelve candidates. This being the anniversary of George Washington's birth, these candidates will be known and designated as "The George Washington class of Pages."

At the close of the meeting refreshments will be served.
