Mrs. Joseph BALL Succumbs At 81

Mrs. Joseph L. BALL, 81, died Monday at 11:15 p.m. at her home at 401 E. Burlington St. after an illness of three days. She had been an invalid for 14½ years.

Last rites will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Raymond funeral home in charge of Dr. C. R. Douglass. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery,.

The former Georgian WHITMORE, Mrs. BALL was born in Jefferson county Sept. 4, 1878. She was the daughter of George and Margaret WARDER WHITMORE.

Mrs. BALL was reared and educated in Jefferson county. She was a graduate of Iowa State Teachers college and taught rural school in this county for a number of years. She was married to Joseph L. BALL in October, 1902 (sic - October 5th, 1902).

Mrs. BALL was a member of the Cross Lanes Presbyterian church and Chapter HA, PEO. she is survived by her husband and two children, John L. BALL, Fairfield; and Josephine BALL, Des Moines. The following sisters also survive: Dr. Clara B. WHITMORE, Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Mohr KRAMER, Sigourney; Mrs. Homer MILLER, Garden Grove, Calif.; and Ruth WHITMORE, Centerville.

One son, two sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.
