Mrs. Eva F. BALL, widow of Lewis C. BALL, passed away at her home, 502 North Maine (sic) street last evening at 6:10 oclock. She has been in poor health for months and her death was not unexpected. So patient and uncomplaining in her suffering death was a most welcome release to her.

On November 30, 1875, she was united in marriage to Lewis C. BALL. Theirs was a long happy life together, many years spent on their farm southeast of town but the last 33 years their home has been in Fairfield. Her faithful partner passed away just two years ago.

She was a most loving mother to her four children who survive her and were at home at her going, Mrs. F. F. CASE, Pearl, Mrs. Paul F. McLEAN and L. C. She has been a life long member of Ebenezer Christian church which was near their farm.

Note: The Fairfield Abbey was a mausoleum which stood in what is now the 6th Addition of Evergreen Cemetery. Structural deterioration caused the Abbey to begin collapsing, and in the 1960s those who had been interred there were moved to other accomodations; the Abbey was subsequently razed. Evaline, husband Lewis, and their daughter Melissa Pearl were all moved to Evergreen Cemetery, Lot Old.P.078.
