LORELLE BAKER
Hubert Lorelle BAKER, son of Guy C. (sic - Guy G.) and Elta M. BAKER, was born in Black Hawk township, Jefferson county, Iowa, November 12, 1902, and departed this life March 6, 1923, being at the time of his death aged twenty years, three months and twenty-four days.
When a small child he was converted and baptized, and united with the Methodist Episcopal church at Brookville, Iowa.
He attended the common schools of Jefferson county and was graduated from the Packwood High school in 1919. In the fall of 1919 he entered the Fairfield High school from which he was graduated in 1920.
The deceased was of a quiet disposition, an earnest student, and was held in high esteem by his associates and acquaintances.
He leaves to mourn his loss his father and mother, two brothers Merle and Verle, besides a host of relatives and friends.
The funeral services were held from the Christian church in Fairfield Thursday, March 8, at 11:00 a.m., conducted by Dr. C. L. Tennant of the First Methodist church and interment was made in Evergreen cemetery. The pallbearers were Gouldburn Heald, Roy Cowen, Bruce Thomas, Edward Samuelson, Harlan Nelson and Virgil Lisk, six of this boy friends from Packwood.
