FRANK G. BAKER DIED EARLY TODAY

Frank Gregg BAKER died this morning at eight o'clock at the home of his sister, Mrs. M. H. CUDDY, on North Main street, where he made his home.

Mr. BAKER had been in poor health for several months past, although about to be about. It was not until last Monday that his illness took a serious turn. He was 45 years old, having been born in Glasgow October 10, 1871 (sic - 1870), a son of Mr. and Mrs. N. H. BAKER. For many years he has been a familiar figure in the business circles of Fairfield, where he was the pioneer news dealer, which business he followed until recent years.

His great love was for flowers, and for the past few years he has spent much of his time in the garden of his home, where the profusion of plants testify to his careful attention.

One brother and two sisters, with his father, survive him. They are W. R. BAKER and Mrs. M. H. CUDDY, of this city, and Mrs. George HEPBURN of Des Moines.

The arrangements for the funeral have not yet been made and will be announced tomorrow.

Note: Buried in Lot 2nd.156, the same lot as his parents, Nathan Hamilton and Catharine 'Kate' GREGG BAKER. His death certificate notes he was born on October 7th, not the 10th as noted above; his gravestone only notes years of birth and death. Birth certificates were not required in Iowa previous to July, 1880, so no official county-level record is available for verification.
