Frank L. BAKER Dies In Arizona

Word has been received here of the death of Frank L. BAKER, former resident of Fairfield who died early this morning at Phoenix, Ariz., where he had made his home for the past four years.

The body is being returned to the Weston Behner Funeral home where last rites are pending.

Frank L. BAKER, 61, was born Dec. 14, 1899, at Fairfield, the son of W. R. and Carrie LOEHR BAKER. He was reared and educated in Fairfield, and was a veteran of World War I.

He was united in marriage on March 15, 1923 (sic - 1924), to Beulah GIRE. The marriage took place at Ottumwa. Mrs. BAKER preceeded (sic) her husband in death on Nov. 6, 1956.

Shortly after their marriage they moved to Chicago where he was a member of the force (sic - police) before going to work in the post office at Chicago. He was forced to retire from his postal work about 30 years later because of ill health and moved to Galesburg.

A short time after Mrs. BAKER's death, he moved to Phoenix, Ariz., for his health. He has lived there since.

BAKER is survived by his mother, Mrs. Carrie BAKER, Fairfield; and the following brothers and sisters: William and George BAKER, and Mrs. J. E. DAGGETT, all of Fairfield; and Mrs. Harold ZEIGLER, Portland, Ore. He was preceded in death by his wife, father, one sister and a brother.

Frank L. BAKER Rites Thursday

Last rites for Frank L. BAKER, 61, former Fairfield resident, will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral home.

BAKER died Saturday at Phoenix, Ariz. Services will be conducted by Rev. J. Roland Crandall. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

BAKER was born and reared in Fairfield. He made his home in Chicago and Galesburg, Ill., before going to Phoenix a few years ago.
