Edwin Baxter BAGGS died in this city Sunday morning, after a protracted and painful illness. He was a native of Massachusetts, born at Amherst June 18th, 1832, and attained his majority in that state. In 1854 he was married to Charlotte WILSON (sic - WILLSON), who, with an adopted daughter, survives him. The family removed to Farmer City, Ill., in 1855, where its members resided until 1886. Their residence here dates from the latter period. Mr. BAGGS became a member of the Congregational church at the age of seventeen, but after his removal west identified himself with the Methodist denomination because there was no Congregational society at his home. He led an active and an earnest christian life and was beloved and respected in the communities in which he had lived. He will be sincerely mourned as a affectionate husband and father and a good citizen. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. I. O. Kemble, were held yesterday morning.
