Mildred Doris BABCOCK, 76, 1007 W. Stone Ave., died at 10:20 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 1992, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines (note: in Polk Co., IA).
The service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. John D. Boatman officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Raymond Funeral Home. A memorial has been established.
Mrs. BABCOCK was born July 7, 1916, northwest of Fairfield, the daughter of Harvey and Isabel WILSON LOUTH. She grew up in the Libertyville-Batavia communities and graduated from Batavia High School. She married Richard Joseph BABCOCK on Sept. 14, 1933, in Fairfield. He died Aug. 11, 1978. She lived most of her married life in Fairfield, where she worked at the Fairfield Glove and Mitten Co. for more than 30 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Eagles Auxiliary.
Surviving are a son, Larry of Ankeny; a daughter, Doris NELSON of Maui, Hawaii; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty LAWSON, Erma JEFFREY, both of Fairfield; two brothers, Elmer LOUTH of Birmingham and Roy LOUTH of San Diego. A son, Dick, preceded her in death.
