MRS. JANE ASHMEAD DEAD; FUNERAL FRIDAY

Mrs. Jane ASHMEAD died at her home here at six o'clock this morning. She had been in failing health for some time and her death was due to old age.

Mrs. ASHEMAD was eighty-eight years of age and was well known in Fairfield and Jefferson county. Her husband died about ten years ago (sic - in 1903).

The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday from her late residence 406 W. Briggs street.

MRS. JANE ASHMEAD

Jane McCUTCHEON was born in West Moreland county, Pennsylvania July 18th, 1832, and died in Fairfield September 9th, 1920, aged 88 years, 1 month and 21 days.

She was married to Clarkson ASHMEAD at Brownsville, Pa., Jan. 8th, 1852, to which union there were born five children, Anna and L. G. who passed away in infancy. The living are: Mrs. Ada May SHELBY of Prosser, Washington, Benson C., of Bloomfield, and Samuel of Presser, Washington.

Mr. ASHMEAD passed away Feb. 10, 1903. Mrs. ASHMEAD had been a devoted member of the Methodist church since childhood and was a devout woman.

The family had lived in the county since 1855, and at Fairfield since 1900.

Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock tmorrow (sic) morning from her late residence, 406 West Briggs street conducted by Rev. C. L. Tennant.

Note: Buried in Lot Old.P.230 with husband Clarkson. Her gravestone notes 1833 for her birth year, however it's 1832 in her obituary and on her death certificate.
