Fred Douglas ANTHONY, 68, died this morning at the Jefferson county hospital where he had been a patient for the past five weeks.
A lifelong resident of Fairfield, ANTHONY made his home at 904 W. Stone street. He had been emplayed (sic) at the Iowa Malleable Iron Co. since 1919 until his health failed several months ago.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Hoskins funeral home in charge of the Rev. Everett Allen and the Rev. George Vaters. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
ANTHONY was born in Fairfield June 11, 1885, the son of James and Martha MILLER ANTHONY. He was married to Lillian MONDY Aug. 3, 1925 in Keokuk. He was a member of the Masonic lodge in Ottumwa.
Survivors include his wife, one son, Jay MONDY, one daughter, Mrs. Madeylyn WILSON, of Fairfield and one grandson. Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
