Daisy A. Leeper
May 13, 2005Daisy A. Leeper, 89, of Eldon, died Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
The funeral was at 2 p.m. today at Kremer Funeral Home in Eldon, with the Rev. Richard Friend officiating. Burial was in Eldon Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Christian Church or Eldon Fire and Rescue Unit.
Mrs. Leeper was born March 25, 1916, near Tallyrand, the daughter of Charles and Christina Saner Derby. She married Clarence Leeper Oct. 23, 1933. He died July 2, 1978.
She spent most of her life in Washington, Keokuk and Wapello counties. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church near Floris, where she also was a member of the church's Ladies Aid group. She was a chartered member of Eldon Lioness Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Hindsley and husband Rick of Eldon and Mary Walker and husband Don of Keota; one son, Glenn Leeper and wife Geri of North Carolina; one brother, Howard Derby of Burlington; three sisters, Bernice Bennett of Keota, Thelma Horsey and Frances Leeper, both of Washington; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Mabel Rozenboom, Mildred Evans, Elma Hackert and Letha Rudolph; three brothers, Charles, Norval and Eddie Derby; and four grandchildren.
