Page 2, Column 1GRANT ANDERSON DIED YESTERDAY
Grant U. ANDERSON died Sunday about 12:30 o'clock at the home of his mother Mrs. John LINDBLOOM (sic - LINDBOM, throughout) on South H street after an illness of some time of tuberculosis. Mr. ANDERSON was born near Salina nn (sic) February 16, 1884, and grew to young manhood in this county. For eight years past he had served in the United States regular army, most of that time being stationed at Fort Columbia, Washington. He was for some time Sargeant of the Thirty-third Coast Artillery.
A few months ago Mr. ANDERSON received an honorable discharge on account of poor health and was sent to a sanitarium. About five weeks ago Mr. ANDERSON came to this city to visit his mother and since that time has been steadily failing. His young wife who has been in Fort Columbia is expected to arrive within a few days for the funeral.
He leaves a wife, two sisters, Mrs. Arch JONES of Canada, and Mrs. Floyd CUSHMAN of Ottumwa, one brother Elm,er (sic) ANDERSON of Delta, Colorado, a half brother, Ellwood LINDBLOOM, his mother and a step-father John LINDBLOOM. The funeral services will probably be held Friday upon the arrival of the young wife.

Grant M. ANDERSON died Sunday, June 9, at the home of his mother, Mrs. John LINDBOM on South H street, after an illness of several months. Deceased was born near Salina February 16, 1884. Several hears ago he enlisted in the regular army and at the time of his death was a sergeant of the 33rd Coast Artillery stationed at Fort Columbia, Wash. About six months ago his health failed and he was sent to a government sanitarium in Arkansas. Realizing there was no hope of recovery he came to Fairfield to spend his last hours with his mother. Word of his death was sent to his wife at Fort Columbia, who is expected to arrive here about tomorrow evening. Although no definite time has been set for the funeral, pending her arrival, it will probably be held Friday at the LINDBOM home, conducted by Dr. Thomas Osborn of the M. E. church.
Mr. ANDERSON leaves besides his wife, two sisters, Mrs. Arch JONES, of Canada, and Mrs. Floyd CUSHMAN, of Ottumwa, one brother, Elmer ANDERSON, of Delta, Colorado, a half brother, Ellwood LINDBOM, his mother, and a step-father, John LINDBOM.

Grant U. ANDERSON passed away at the home of his mother, Mrs. John LINDBLOOM, shortly after noon Sabbath after a lingering illness with consumption. Mr. ANDERSON was about 29 years old and for the past eight years had served in the regular army, being stationed at Fort Columbia, Wash. He came here about a month ago for a visit with his mother. He is survived by a young wife, his mother, stepfather, two sisters, a brother and a half brother.
