Don H. ANDERS, 65, 507 W. Adams, died at 11 p.m. Thursday at the Veterans Hospital in Iowa City (note: in Johnson Co., IA).
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Raymond Funeral Home. The Rev. Charles Kincaid will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery with military rites.
Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience from noon Sunday until time for the funeral. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church or the Fairfield Little League.
Don H. ANDERS was born Feb. 11, 1920, in Jefferson County. He was the son of Lloyd A. and June Marie CROWNER ANDERS. He was a lifetime resident of Fairfield. His marriage to Mary L. MILLER took place Feb. 21, 1942, at the Christian Church Parsonage in Kahoka, Mo. She survives.
ANDERS owned and operated service stations in Fairfield for a number of years until his retirement. He was associated with Phillip 66 for 18 years and North Star for 13 years.
He was a member of the First Christian Church and the American Legion. He served in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
In addition to his widow ANDERS is survived by two sons: Rick ANDERS, Muscatine, and Lloyd ANDERS, Belmond; a daughter, Cathy BAILEY, Lockridge.
He is also survived by five grandchildren; his mother, June ANDERS, Fairfield; a brother, Rex ANDERS, Anaheim, Calif.; and a sister, Wava COCKRUM, Kennewick, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother.
