Death came suddenly this morning to Charles O. ANDERS, 87, well known retired Jefferson county farmer.
ANDERS had lived with his daughter near Glasgow for the past two years and had been in his usual health until yesterday afternoon when he took suddenly ill. He was taken to the Jefferson county hospital where he passed away at 7:30 a.m. today.
He had been in failing health the past year but is condition was not serious until his sudden illness.

ANDERS was born near Primrose in Lee county, Ia., on Nov. 11, 1863, the son of the late Hanson and Elizabeth MILLER ANDERS. He was united in marriage to Lydia McKEY on Aug. 21, 1889. The wedding took place in Lee county. Mrs. ANDERS preceded her husband in death July 6, 1934.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. John CROWNER, near Glasgow, where he had made his home the past two years. He was preceded in death by a son, Lloyd ANDERS, who passed away April 7, 1948. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
